Social Service remains the heart of the Swiss Benevolent Society of New York. Our doors are always open to our fellow Swiss who experience difficulties. All information remains strictly confidential. Our services are available free of charge to both members and non-members of the Society. Please contact us via email or call us if we can help you or a friend.Two certified social workers offer case management, short term counseling, referrals and advice. They advocate on behalf of their clients with other agencies, American and Swiss, from the school system to Medicare. They coordinate their clients' overall care and visit them at home, in the hospital and in nursing homes, often taking the place of the family our elderly clients no longer have. They can help with plans for your active years or retirement and provide information about documents that everybody should have in order, such as Living Wills, Health Care Proxies, Last Wills, etc. The following examples illustrate the diversity of problems that come our way: |
